Final Call for Surveys, Plus Printing Proofs
over 2 years ago – Thu, Sep 09, 2021 at 01:05:41 AM

DKR fans,

Most of you have completed your surveys and will be getting your games in December (fingers crossed). But there’s still a small but significant number of you who have not completed your surveys OR had credit card errors on BackerKit. The final deadline for surveys is SEPTEMBER 13. If we don’t have completed surveys and payments for shipping/add-ons by then, we cannot include your game in the shipment for fulfillment in your region. We will be trying to reach out to anyone who falls into this camp over the next week, but please double check if you’re unsure about the status of your survey.

While we have your attention: We went through printing proofs of the game components last week. What struck our team was how MASSIVE the game is and how many hours of work we’ve all put into it. Also, everything looks really COOL! Here are some photos of the proofs for the game cards, slipcase, cover art, and minis tray (with another peek at the minis).

Production Update, Plus a Look at the Final Game Board
over 2 years ago – Sat, Aug 28, 2021 at 10:38:39 PM

DKR fans,

We don’t like leaving you hanging for weeks at a time with no news, so we wanted to check in and let you know everything is still going swimmingly with production. We received samples from the factory of the engraved dice and verified the designs were correct; these samples didn’t have final colors, so we’ll hold off on sharing until we have dice that look more like the actual product.  We’ve also been reviewing the trays for the different editions, legal notices underneath the bases of the miniatures, and all sorts of other little details. In addition, the French and Spanish translations are close to finished.

In the absence of interesting photos to show you, we thought we’d share what the final game board will look like. Since the Kickstarter campaign, certain elements of the design have been updated, as well as some of the location names based on conversations with our friends at WB. As we get closer to release, we’ll reveal some other game elements, such as more cards, rulebooks, and tokens.

Miniature Samples: Bosses
over 2 years ago – Fri, Jul 30, 2021 at 01:10:46 AM

DKR Fans,

Production on the game is still moving forward on schedule! We are communicating with the factory on a nearly daily basis to discuss details and ensure quality.

In the meantime, we wanted to share a couple more photos of samples of the minis that were sent to our office. Here are some of the Bosses!

Doesn’t that The Joker figure look terrifying (and totally awesome)? And that Superman figure is ready for his showdown with the Dark Knight! Please note: The Mutant Leader was off terrorizing Gotham City so isn’t pictured here.

More pictures and updates soon.

Batarang Poll Results
over 2 years ago – Sat, Jul 24, 2021 at 09:10:00 PM

DKR Fans,

The people have spoken! Almost 1000 of you responded to the poll asking whether the Batarang dice should be engraved (assembled from three pieces) or not engraved (produced as a single piece). The results were close, but we have a winner.

(Drum roll)

The final decision is to… ENGRAVE. It was approximately 53% to 47% in favor of engraving (with the gap widening as time passed). Not a landslide, but since it won in the poll and was the original plan, we are going to engrave the dice.

Those of you who are nervous about the Batarangs being assembled from three pieces and glued together: We assure you that quality control testing will be a high priority and is something we have already communicated to our factory. We are going to make sure high quality glue is used, so that the Batarang dice can withstand hours of gameplay without coming apart.

We appreciate everyone’s input. We are dedicated to making Batman: The Dark Knight Returns — The Game as good as it can be, so that you’re happy with the final product and can enjoy it for years to come. We’ll have more updates with previews soon.
